The film centers around the relationship between Yash's children, Rahul (played by Shah Rukh Khan) and Priya (played by Pooja Bhatt). Rahul, who is married to a British woman, Naina (played by Kareena Kapoor), is disowned by his father for marrying outside of their cultural norms. Priya, on the other hand, is a free-spirited individual who falls in love with a man of her choice, but faces opposition from her family.
