Based on real events, "Eight Below" follows the journey of Mark Orchar, a scientist who conducts research in Antarctica. When Mark's project is canceled, he and his team are forced to leave behind their loyal sled dogs, including the lead dog, Max. But Mark's assistant, Derek, secretly brings the dogs to the United States, where they are taken to a farm.
