The story takes place when Nobita, a lazy and often unsuccessful boy, travels back in time to the Edo period with the help of his trusty robot cat, Doraemon. In the past, Nobita meets a young samurai named Shinsengumi and gets involved in a battle to protect a castle from a group of evil invaders.
