The movie picks up where the first installment left off, with the return of Frankenstein (played by Tyrese Gibson), a former NASCAR driver turned death row inmate who was forced to participate in a deadly racing tournament. This time around, Frankenstein is back on the track, facing off against a new crop of ruthless opponents in a high-stakes competition where the winner gets to escape the clutches of the corrupt and sadistic prison warden, Hellquist (played by David Grier).
