The movie begins with a struggling Indian women's hockey team, led by Coach Kabir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), a former Olympic hockey player. The team is a misfit, with players from different backgrounds and with varying levels of skill. However, under Coach Khan's guidance, they learn to put their differences aside and work together towards a common goal.
